Skin colour
With endless options on offer, choosing the right hair colour can be a daunting task - so here are the basics. Your skin naturally reflects either a warm, cool or neutral tone – and it is this glow that determines what hair colour will look best on you.
To uncover your natural skin tone, look at the veins on your wrist - if they reflect a blue or purple hue then you naturally have a cool undertone, whilst if your veins have a greenish cast, then you have warm undertones. Can’t tell? Then you’re most likely neutral, meaning both warm and cool colours look great on you. #jealous.
Cool Hair colours
Taking it back to our sexy ladies, Samantha’s hair colour is a cool blonde, which could be ashy blonde shades such as platinum, ice, silver or champagne. These colours look great on naturally cool skin tones, as they counteract any ruddiness in the skin. Charlotte has a cool brown hair colour - examples include chestnut, mocha, dark chocolate and dark auburn - which highlight yellow undertones and warm your complexion whether you have fair or deep coloured skin.
Warm Hair colour
Miranda’s fiery hair colour not only complements her fearless personality but her fair complexion too thanks to those warm undertones. Warm red colours such as strawberry blonde, amber, copper or rust shades suit someone with neutral skin or bluish undertones in fair skin. Cool reds like auburn and burgundy are a perfect match for fair, cool skin tones.
And lastly, we have Carrie with her golden curls. Going for a warmer blonde such as caramel, amber, honey or butterscotch is a good choice for those with olive skin or cool skin and neutral undertones, as choosing a light ashy blonde can wash out your face.
Now you know how to glow with your ideal hair colour, there’s no excuse for a bad hair day ever again!
