Hair Expo Australian Hairdressing Awards

The Hair Expo Australian Hairdressing Awards is the country's most prestigious and highly contested industry competition, and to win one of its accolades is definitely right up there on every hairdressers' bucket list! So we were super proud to frock up to Sydney's beautiful Town Hall on Tuesday night for the announcement of this year's finalists...and to see our head honcho Nathan's stunning collection showcased up in lights against the industry's finest creatives for the 'Emerging Hairdresser of the Year' category. "I was inspired by dark film noir and those grainy images of 1940's film," Nathan tells of his collection. "It was a time when hair was pretty and glamorous; true old Hollywood style. I love all things art deco and I wanted my story to evoke that same feeling, playing with linear qualities in the hair, strong fringes and side parts, glossy waves and old smokey shutter lighting. I really like the direction I have taken for this year's collection, it's commercial and beautiful hair. Very SY." (That's Salon Yazbek in case you hadn't guessed!)
